Gastech is expected to attract more than 38,000 international visitors from over 60 countries. It is a platform that enables heads of state, government officials, ministerial and global business leaders, disruptors, innovators, and students to connect, to collaborate, to engage in conversations.
Meeting the world’s growing demand for clean energy will require a range of resources and continuous innovation. That’s where we come in. Our portfolio spans the new energy value chain, from carbon-cutting technologies for oil & gas and power applications, to LNG, wind and hydrogen solutions. With an annual R&D spend of approximately 1 billion EUR, we’re making tomorrow different today through five fields of innovation.
We look forward to seeing you at Gastech 2022! Please visit us in the Hydrogen Pavilion.
Joint venture for the production of large-scale hydrogen electrolyzers
Siemens Energy and Air Liquide announced the creation of a joint venture dedicated to the production of renewable hydrogen electrolyzers on an industrial scale. Together, the Franco-German partnership will foster a European ecosystem for electrolysis and hydrogen technology and enable the emergence of a sustainable hydrogen economy in Europe. Both Groups will use the multi-gigawatt factory to supply stacks to their respective clients, serving the rapidly growing market.
While making natural gas an even cleaner bridge fuel, we build a road to hydrogen – bringing a net-zero future closer to reality. Innovation and collaboration with our partners and customers are key to reach this goal.

The propulsion system holds the biggest influence not only on performance, security, and cost-effectiveness - but also on greenhouse gas emissions of a ship. Advanced ship propulsion systems greatly reduce fuel consumption, and therefore CO₂ emissions and operating cost.
BlueVault™ is an advanced lithium-ion battery-based solution, suited for both all-electric and hybrid energy-storage applications. The battery is designed to maximize life, performance and safety. BlueVault™ can be installed in newbuild as well as retrofit diesel-electric power plants and in all type vessels, drilling or FPSO.
The oil and gas industry is increasingly looking toward data-driven solutions to boost performance, enhance efficiency and ultimately, to reduce costs. We help customers with our extensive software portfolio, deep expertise in data analytics and experience in oil and gas and other industries.
APM4O&G helps to avoid costly downtime, get enhanced performance out of assets, and significantly reduce unnecessary operations and maintenance work using reliability centered maintenance.
Decarbonization, digitalization, and electrification are major trends in the oil and gas industry. The shift towards subsea processing, which enables increased recovery rates with reduced CO2 emissions, will continue.
Our portfolio is tailored to support the industry on this journey - from our wide range of connectors and sensors to our large-scale subsea power distribution systems.
Odfjell Oceanwind has entered a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Siemens Gamesa and Siemens Energy to develop mobile offshore wind units (MOWU).
In Wunsiedel, Siemens Energy builds on of Germany’s biggest hydrogen plants with an annual production capacity of 1,350 t of green hydrogen – the equivalent of 13,500 t CO₂ not being emitted into the atmosphere.
Siemens Energy will implement an electrolyzer plant nearbly the solar park of Kassø, Denmark. The hydrogen will be used for cost-effective e-fuel production securing the e-methanol supply for Maersk’s first e-methanol driven container vessel.
An electrolyzer plant will be integrated in the existing local hydrogen and oxygen pipeline structure of Air Liquide in Germany.
The all-electric Woodfibre LNG project in British Columbia, Canada, will be sized for 2.1 million tonnes per annum and utilize clean, renewable hydroelectricity, reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by more than 80%.
The three main refrigeration compressors at the liquefaction plants are powered by all-electric drive trains that contain the world's largest high-voltage and high-speed synchronous motors.
