The testing laboratories at the Schaltwerk Berlin
As accredited testing laboratories, we have been testing electrotechnical components for Siemens and Siemens Energy and external customers for over 90 years. We guarantee the impartiality and independence of all the tests we conduct for high and medium voltage. With our high level of technical expertise, we additionally offer tests for areas such as wind power and aviation as well as plant engineering and machine building. Thanks to our wide-ranging test portfolio, we are able to test materials of all kinds. Our state-of-the-art test engineering, which is continuously updated to reflect the latest technology, together with a high level of automation ensure efficient processes and short throughput times from delivery to testing to documentation preparation. We precisely tailor our services to meet your individual testing requirements and are happy to assist you with the testing of your products.Accredited according to standard ISO/IEC 17025
Whether high-voltage, high-power or mechanics, every testing laboratory is accredited for the performance of internationally recognized type tests according to ISO/IEC 17025. We are a member of PEHLA (Gesellschaft für elektrische Hochleistungsprüfungen), which is associated with the international Short-Circuit Testing Liaison (STL).High quality and worldwide recognition ensure competitive advantages: the testing laboratories at the Schaltwerk Berlin are accredited according to standard ISO/IEC 17025. This means that we satisfy an essential prerequisite to issue worldwide recognized product certificates. The accreditation entails tests conducted on high-voltage switchgear and on items of electric power engineering equipment.
Our testing laboratories are supervised by the German accreditation body (DAkkS) and are subject to regular and strict quality surveillance. As an accredited testing laboratory we are a member of the PEHLA, an association of several testing laboratories for the execution of monitored, manufacturer independent tests and carry out tests according to international standards or referred to customer requests.
We test conforming to IEC, DIN, EN, VDE, ANSI, IEEE, GOST, GB and other national and international norms or after customer specification. A full overview of the standards according to which we are accredited you will find in our accreditation scope. Further standards on request.
Since 1960 PEHLA has been working as a service provider for the qualification of products for electrical power transmission and power distribution in the medium and high voltage sector. Several manufacturers - global players - joined forces over 60 years ago to test and certify power system components in a uniform fashion and in compliance with standards.
Documentation of test results
Our high quality standards not only apply to our test engineering and testing equipment but also to the test documentation. That’s why the test documents we issue are esteemed and recognized by customers and end users of electrotechnical devices around the world.Your competitive advantages by worldwide recognized testing documents
The testing laboratories at the Schaltwerk Berlin are as a recognized organization of PEHLA integrated in an international structure of testing and certification bodies. So the tests and the consequent documents meet the highest of requirements. That’s why the test documents we issue either as a Siemens Energy testing laboratory or as a PEHLA institution are esteemed and recognized by customers and end users of electrotechnical devices around the world. Manufacturers of successfully tested products benefit from facilitated market entry: In many cases, the presentation of our PEHLA test documents are an essential selling point. We provide all our customers with the option to individually define the nature and extent of the documentation depending on performed tests and relevant standards. This way, all market demands can be optimally factored in.
Thanks to extensive automation of the document preparation process, we are able to deliver all test documents shortly after completion of the tests. Further documentation material, such as video documentations, high-speed images, and thermal images, can be provided on request.
