Accessibility for Individuals with Disabilities

AODA statement on the accessibility of the public web site

Siemens Energy, globally, is committed to communicating with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability. Siemens Energy will strive wherever possible, to provide information to customers with disabilities in ways that meet their needs. The accessibility of the Siemens Energy public web sites around the world plays an essential role in this.

Major progress has been made on the Siemens Energy central global platform over the last months by including the input of accessibility experts from the Siemens Accessibility Competence Center in Germany. The evaluation included the knowledge of a blind person and a person with low vision using up to date screen readers, screen magnifiers and other assistive technologies.

The accessibility experts also have completed an accessibility evaluation on Siemens Energy Canada’s web site, https://siemens-energy.com/ca/en.html/. The evaluation identified the instances of non-conformance with the accessibility standard WCAG 2.0, level A and level AA.

Siemens Energy Canada understands that Canadian legal provisions do not require Siemens Energy Canada to address any non-conformances that are the result of implementing the Siemens Energy global platform or are otherwise outside of the control of Siemens Energy Canada.

The evaluation report has been provided to Siemens Energy Canada for its purposes to allow it to address local elements within its control in due time. All other non-conformances that are related to the Siemens Energy global platform will be addressed in Germany in the next 12 months.

The experts of the Accessibility Competence Center confirm the functional accessibility of the top-level pages of https://siemens-energy.com/ca/en.html/ in desktop website version in principle even though some level A requirements are not met yet.
