Robertstown

The right momentum for grid stability

South Australian grid operator ElectraNet has to cope with over 50 percent renewable energy in its grid. This is a tough challenge for grid stability. Grids like this lack the inertia of heavy power turbines that can instantaneously bridge sudden frequency drops. To avert the risk of blackouts, ElectraNet has now equipped its Robertstown substation with two generators with high-tech flywheels, thereby multiplying the inertia.

Siemens Energy has appointed Thorbjörn Fors as Senior Vice President of the Asia Pacific region, effective January 1, 2023. He succeeds Samuel Morillon who is appointed Vice President of the Pacific sub-region and is now based in Melbourne, Australia.
